Youth and Young Adult MASS Every Sunday at 5pm, St Thomas Aquinas hosts a Youth and Young Adult Mass. Contrary to the way it sounds, this Mass is open to everyone of all ages. At the weekly Youth and Young Adult Mass, teens and their families experience the depths of God's love through the Word, the community, and the Eucharist. Relevant preaching and quality music bring the Catholic Mass to life.
Wednesday Classes St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church is proud to present an innovative and new Youth Ministry program model. These classes are intended to nurture teenagers’ catechetical, spiritual, and social needs. We will provide the teens with the best quality Catholic Instruction, a myriad of service opportunities, ample prayer and spiritual experiences, and social activities meant to foster community among our youth. Our curriculum works in conjunction with a textbook called The Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth and with the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each teen will be given a copy of both texts to work along side of the classes.
All Classes take place on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm in St Clare Hall. Teens are encouraged to come early and have an opportunity to meet and socialize with other teens. All retreat and service projects are separate events and will require a permission slip for attendance. As the dates approach, teens will be given permission slips in class. Small group meetings are an opportunity for small groups to meet with their adult leaders outside of the normal class time. While this is not a mandatory part of the program, we do encourage the teens to take this opportunity to build relationships with those in their small groups. Activities will include service projects, social outings, and prayer meetings. Please look at our Calendar page for a detailed schedule of classes.
Retreats St Thomas Aquinas Youth Ministry currently offers two retreats a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. These events are quite possibly the most powerful, life changing experiences availble to our teens. Each retreat lasts only a weekend, but it is one weekend that they will never forget. Throughout the weekend they are given opportunities to grow in every aspect of their life, but especially in their relationship with Christ. The weekend is broken into sessions, each session showing them a new way to focus in on the love that God has for them. The weekend peaks with Adoration of the blessed sacrament late Saturday night, which is always the most amazing experience of retreat. The teens open themselves to the power of the Blessed Sacrament and truly allow God into their lives to forever change them! In addition to being spiritually changed forever, we offer many different fun experiences throughout the weekend ranging from our Messy Wars games, to basketball, to a GIANT Rock Wall, to Paintball. It is an experince that teens will never forget!
